New 7 wonders of the world


" Never before in history have so many people participated in a global decision ".


Thanks to this person ,,Bernard Weber,, Founder & President of the New 7 Wonders Campaign.Yes, the new seven wonders of the world were handpicked by common people unlike the previous 7 wonders which is believed to be picked by a single man of the Ancient Greece long time ago. Many websites & mobile services served as the instrument for the people to cast their votes for their favorite wonder. Below is the list of official contenders which made it to the finals.

  2. Chichén Itzá,Mexico
  3. The Colosseum, Rome, Italy.
  4. The Eiffel Tower, Paris, France.
  5. The Great Wall of China, China.
  6. Machu Picchu, Peru.
  7. Petra, Jordan.
  8. The Statue of Christ the Redeemer,Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  9. The Statues of Easter Island, Chile.
  10. The Taj Mahal,India.
  11. Angkor,Cambodia.
  12. The Alhambra, Spain.
  13. Hagia Sophia,Istanbul, Turkey.
  14. Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto, Japan.
  15. The Kremlin/St Basil's Cathedral, Russia.
  16. Neuschwanstein ,Füssen, Germany
  17. The Statue of Liberty,New York.
  18. Stonehenge, Britain.
  19. Sydney Opera House, Australia.
  20. Timbuktu,Mali.

Out of the above mentioned 20 finalists only seven were to be new 7 wonders of the world. Of all the numbers why this seven? Well, the official decided that there were ancient seven wonders and so be there new 7 wonders. There are loads and loads of reasons for the number 7 being picked, but now back to our wonders. The pyramids have been assured honorary status, in addition to the new seven wonders. Here, are the seven wonders which eventually stood out as the new 7 wonders of the world.   1. GREAT WALL OF CHINA (220 BC and 1368-1644 AD).
  2. PETRA, Jordan (9 BC-40AD).
  3. CHRIST THE REDEEMER, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1931 AD).
  4. MACHU PICCHU, Peru (1460-1470AD).
  5. PYRAMID AT CHICHÉN ITZÁ, Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico (before 800 AD).
  6. THE COLOSSEUM, Rome (70-82 AD).
  7. TAJ MAHAL, Agra, India (1630 AD).
